NFL NETWORK LANDS 5-TIME
EMMY AWARD WINNER; As NFL Network nears its November 4 launch, the final key personnel pieces are being put into place. NFL Network President & CEO Steve Bornstein announced today the addition of five-time Emmy award winner Glenn Adamo to the production team. Adamo, 47, has been hired as Vice President of Production and Operations. His responsibilities will include oversight of all Production and Operations functions of the 24-hour a day network. He will split his time between New York and Mt. Laurel, NJ. “We are delighted to add someone of Glenn’s caliber to our ranks,” said Bornstein. “He is uniquely positioned because he has worked for a television network, a sports league, and a team. This broad perspective will enable Glenn to enhance NFL Network’s on-screen presentation.” Most recently, Adamo worked as Vice President, Community Development and Broadcasting for the Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils. He spent seven years (1993-2000) with the National Hockey League (NHL) as Group Vice President of Broadcasting and, prior to that, 15 years (1978-1993) with NBC as a coordinating producer on programming including: NFL, NCAA Basketball, NBA, MLB, College Bowl Games, Boxing, Wimbledon, French Open and studio shows. Adamo worked the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City for NBC Sports as the CNBC Hockey Coordinating Producer. He was responsible for staffing, production, programming and creative execution of more than 140 hours of Olympic hockey coverage airing on CNBC, MSNBC and NBC. Adamo won a Sports Emmy for his work. His other Emmy’s were for: World Series, Wimbledon, and the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympics. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Adamo currently resides in Manalapan, NJ. NFL Network has an initial carriage agreement with DIRECTV’s basic service, seen in more than 11.5 million homes. NFL Network will provide 365 days a year of NFL and football-related programming. With original shows, 100 million feet of film in the NFL Films library and preseason games (2004), NFL Network will be a cable and satellite channel serving a broad audience with in-depth, innovative and compelling programming made possible by its unique access to America’s most popular sport. |
