GAME OF WEEK IN HIGH-DEF COMING TO NFL NETWORK

NFL Films Presents:  Game of the Week in HD, a 60-minute condensed NFL game from the previous weekend’s action, will debut on NFL Network  Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 9:00 PM ET/PT in High-Definition format.

NFL Films Presents: Game of the Week in HD will be a 60-minute version of a full NFL game, using cutting-edge technology and in-depth analysis to go inside the game.  The show will explore the key personnel match-ups, highlight outstanding performances and break-down crucial plays.  Game of the Week will review the game quarter by quarter, showing fans how 4th-quarter plays are set up by what happened earlier in the game.

“This show is what makes NFL Network unique,” said NFL Films President Steve Sabol.  “This is the only sport and the only place on television where a fan can review a current game in depth like this.  Our goal as filmmakers is to give fans a detailed, comprehensive retelling of the game that focuses not only on the tactics and strategies, but also on the personalities.  And personally, as a fan of pro football and a filmmaker, it is exciting to be able to devote an entire show to one game in high definition.”

In just 48 hours, a team of NFL Films producers will combine a week’s worth of research and analysis with approximately 16,000 feet of the studio’s signature slow-motion cinematography and exclusive sideline sound to give fans a unique and in-depth perspective of how the game was won – and lost.  This presentation can be seen only on NFL Films Presents: Game of the Week in HD on NFL Network.

NFL Films will select the game after conferring with the studio’s cinematographers and soundmen to find out which game action and sideline sound they captured that Sunday.  “We aren’t necessarily selecting the game that had the most scoring,” said Sabol.  “NFL Films is picking the game that we think provides interesting storylines through our unique access, miked players and coaches, and the insight that provides.”

NFL Films Presents: Game of the Week in HD will be produced at NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and air each Wednesday night at 9:00 PM ET/PT on NFL Network, the new NFL television programming service launching November 4 nationally on satellite and cable.

In addition to Game of the Week on Wednesdays, NFL Films Presents will be shown at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, exploring the depth of the NFL Films archive – the world‘s largest sports film library.  Interviews with NFL legends and contemporary stars, visual essays, historical features and analysis of current trends will be the core elements of NFL Films Presents, hosted by Sabol.

NFL Network will be carried initially on DIRECTV’s basic service that is seen in more than 11.8 million homes.  NFL Network will air seven days a week, 24 hours a day on a year-round basis, the first television network fully dedicated to the NFL and the sport of football.

Original Programming (NFL Total Access, NFL Films Presents, Playbook, College Football Sunday), the NFL Films library, Preseason Games (2004), High-Definition programming, Video-On-Demand (VOD) services and other cutting-edge TV applications will be a part of NFL Network.

NFL Network will provide millions of NFL fans with a network to call their own.  It will take 84 years of NFL history and combine it with the latest technology to bring television viewers sports entertainment at its highest level.  NFL Network will be a destination for all that happens around the league, on and off the field – during the season and throughout the off-season.  For more information, log onto www.nfl.com.
