INSIGHT COMMUNICATIONS TO LAUNCH NFL NETWORK
COUNTRY'S NINTH-LARGEST CABLE OPERATOR NEW YORK -- March 11, 2004 - NFL Network, the four-month-old cable and satellite channel dedicated to the National Football League and the sport of professional football, and Insight Communications Company (Nasdaq: ICCI), the nation’s ninth largest multiple-system operator (MSO), have reached a carriage agreement. Insight becomes the second top-ten cable operator this year to launch NFL Network, following Charter Communications, which began carrying the 24-hour, year round service last month. Insight, which serves 1.4 million customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, will begin a digital rollout of NFL Network this summer. As part of the agreement, NFL Network will provide Insight with a separate high definition (HD) simulcast feed of the channel beginning with the 2004 NFL season, and a customized video-on-demand (VOD) package that includes access to the Emmy-award-winning NFL Films library, and extended highlights of each NFL regular-season game. NFL Network, honored with three Sports Emmy® nominations last week, has now reached significant distribution deals with Insight, Charter, DirecTV and Voom, pushing its available reach to more than 20 million U.S. homes.
