NFL NETWORK TO PRESENT COLLEGE FOOTBALL SUNDAY College Football Sunday, a weekly 60-minute college football highlights show focusing on potential NFL draftees, will debut on NFL Network on Sunday, November 9. College Football Sunday will air throughout the morning on Sunday until the NFL kicks off its early afternoon games. College Football Sunday will feature comprehensive highlights of the top 25 games and provide in-depth analysis of each game's pro prospects. College Football Sunday will look for hidden gems -- players who have not received national attention, but could become stars in the NFL. NFL Network has signed two more experienced sports broadcasters – Mike Mayock and Bill Patrick – to anchor College Football Sunday. Mayock, a college football expert and NFL prospect guru, will serve as the analyst, while versatile broadcaster Bill Patrick hosts the show. The announcement of College Football Sunday was made today by NFL Network Vice President of Programming Charles Coplin. “We are excited about producing a show focusing on tomorrow’s NFL stars,” said Coplin. “As with all of our new shows, College Football Sunday is a great way for fans to stay connected to the game of football.” College Football Sunday will be produced at NFL Films headquarters in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and air on NFL Network, the new NFL television programming service launching November 4 nationally on satellite and cable. Mayock and Patrick join Rich Eisen, Sterling Sharpe, Glenn Parker and Solomon Wilcots as on-air sportscasters for NFL Network. Eisen will host NFL Network’s signature show, NFL Total Access, each weeknight at 8 PM ET/PT. Sharpe, Parker and Wilcots will be featured on Playbook, airing Wednesday through Friday at 10 PM ET/PT. In addition to his duties on College Football Sunday, Mayock will contribute to NFL Total Access and Playbook. Mayock, 45, a former defensive back for the New York Giants (1982-84), has established himself as a respected college and NFL announcer and analyst through his work for ABC Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports Net. He currently serves as a college football analyst for ABC. Patrick, 47, has been a sports broadcaster since 1977. His experience includes serving as host and play-by-play announcer for ESPN and ESPN2, Speedvision, USA Network, Metro Channel and Outdoor Life Network. The NCAA Playoffs, Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals and America’s Cup are among the events he has covered. NFL Network will be carried initially on DIRECTV’s basic service, seen in more than 11.56 million homes. NFL Network will air seven days a week, 24 hours a day on a year-round basis and will be the first television network fully dedicated to the NFL and the sport of football. Original Programming (NFL Total Access, Playbook, College Football Sunday), NFL Films, Preseason Games (2004), High Definition programming, Video-On-Demand (VOD) services and other cutting-edge enhanced TV applications will all be a part of NFL Network. NFL Network will provide millions of fans of the great sport of football and the National Football League with a network to call their own. It will take 84 years of NFL history and combine it with the latest technology to bring television viewers sports entertainment at its highest level. NFL Network will be a destination for all that happens around the league, on and off the field – during the season and throughout the off-season. # # # |
