ADAM SHAW NAMED SENIOR VP OF DISTRIBUTION
FOR THE NFL NETWORK

Adam Shaw has been named Senior Vice President of Distribution for the NFL Network, the new NFL television programming service launching this fall.

The announcement was made today by Steve Bornstein, President and CEO of the NFL Network.  “Adam has done a tremendous job for the better part of a decade building the FOX cable channels,” said Bornstein.  “We expect his expertise to be pivotal in developing the distribution of the NFL Network and NFL VOD opportunities.”

In his new role, Shaw will establish and manage carriage agreements with cable and satellite operators in the United States.  The NFL Network currently has a carriage agreement with DIRECTV’s basic service that is seen in more than 11.4 million homes.  The NFL Network will air seven days a week, 24 hours a day on a year-round basis and will be the first television network fully dedicated to the NFL and the sport of football.

Shaw will lead all affiliate sales and relations programs for the company and spearhead the growth of the network.  He also is responsible for developing affiliate sales campaigns to promote the value of the NFL Network.  NFL Films, Video-On-Demand (VOD) services and other cutting-edge enhanced TV applications will be a part of the NFL Network.

Shaw, former Senior Vice President, Business Operations and Finance of FX Networks, had responsibilities at FX and Fox Cable Networks Group that included developing and launching new businesses and evaluating corporate investments.  Shaw’s leadership helped create the National Geographic Channel, acquire Speed Channel and sell Fox Family Channel to Disney.  As VP of Affiliate Sales for Fox Cable Networks, Shaw played a central role in increasing the distribution of Fox’s six cable networks.  He executed unprecedented global cable affiliation deals with top MSOs, including growing FX from 35 to 65 million homes, enhancing the value of Fox Sports Net, and launching four new channels.

The 31-year-old Los Angeles resident received his BA Magna Cum Laude from Yale University, where he was a member of the Yale football team.
