WOMEN’S WORLD CUP HERO BRANDI CHASTAIN ON-BOARD
AS ROVING FEATURE REPORTER FOR NFL UNDER THE HELMET

Women’s soccer hero Brandi Chastain, who scored the winning goal in the Women’s World Cup Soccer Championship, will be a feature reporter on NFL UNDER THE HELMET, the league’s new weekly teen show.

The NFL Films-produced show successfully blends NFL action with contemporary music and surprising behind-the-scene player profiles to create a first-of-its kind television experience. The 30-minute show airs Saturdays at 12 noon ET on FOX-TV.

Continuing to try to capture unexpected moments with NFL players, the program has hired Chastain to serve as a roving reporter for the show. She will cover special events and provide a new slant in player profiles.

"Brandi’s personality and athleticism allow us to take the show out of the studio and have some fun. She’s got a great buzz with our demo and cross-over appeal that nicely complements Under the Helmet’s entertainment, music and sports focus," said John Collins, the NFL’s senior vice president of programming and sales.

Chastain’s segments will add another twist to this inventive show that has already featured some of the biggest names in the NFL and in contemporary music.

In week four, airing Saturday, October 2, viewers will see fast-paced NFL action by players Eric Moulds, Jason Sehorn, and Troy Aikman. Previous programs have highlighted Terrell Davis, John Randle and Brett Favre.

Musically, the upcoming show features an in-studio performance by rapper Eve. She will sing "Gotta Man" from her debut album that opened as the best-selling album in the country the week of its release. Highlights of New York Jets receiver Keyshawn Johnson will be shown during her performance.

Eve is the second musician to perform on the NFL Under the Helmet set. In week two, up-and-coming rockers Static-X performed "Push It," the group’s new single. Other featured musical guests were Sean "Puffy" Combs who visited the set for the premiere show and Creed, whose new music video "Higher" premiered on the show in week three.

In her first assignment, Chastain visited the Cleveland Browns where she and Browns placekicker Phil Dawson compared football instruction vs. soccer instruction. The two then competed in a kick off competition. The piece will be incorporated in a future program. Chastain will provide up to ten different reports over the course of the season.

The show is hosted by FOX television personalities Ron Pitts and Jill Arrington.
