NFL UNDER THE HELMET FEATURES TRIBUTE TO MARSHALL FAULK, CRIS CARTER RECEIVING TIPS & A FISHING TRIP WITH MIKE ALSTOTT AND FRIENDS

New York, January 4, 2000 – Record-setting St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk will be featured in the latest installment of NFL Under the Helmet this Saturday at noon on FOX.

In his first season in St. Louis, Faulk set the NFL record with 2,429 yards from scrimmage, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in both rushing and receiving. The running back is the subject of a video tribute on Saturday’s show, capturing his greatest moments of the season.

Minnesota wide receiver Cris Carter will take viewers inside the world of an NFL wide receiver, as he shares his thoughts on what it takes to be successful.

Carter, who topped the 1,000-yard receiving plateau for the seventh time in his career in 1999, discusses what goes through his mind when the ball is in the air and what it takes to make a clutch, one-handed grab.

From football to fishing, Under the Helmet will take viewers to the Gulf of Mexico where Buccaneers running back Mike Alstott, tight end Dave Moore and defensive tackle Brad Culpepper try their luck at a different sport.

In Dallas, 13-year-old Cowboys fan Rhonda Cowlishaw will interview running back Daryl Johnston. Rhonda celebrated her birthday on the day of the interview, and Johnston surprised the interviewer with a birthday cake.

Other features include a trip "Back in the Day" with Jacksonville running back Fred Taylor and the Plays of the Week to the sounds of Silverchair and the tune "Anthem for 2000."

NFL Under the Helmet is hosted by Ron Pitts and Jill Arrington.
