NFL UNDER THE HELMET REPORTER BRANDI CHASTAIN TAKES FANS TO THE FIELD FOR MIAMIS PLAYOFF WIN; TITANS KEARSE, RAMS CARTER FEATURED
New York, January 11, 2000 Roving reporter and soccer star Brandi Chastain will give fans a unique look at the NFL playoffs in the latest installment of NFL Under the Helmet Saturday at noon on FOX.
Chastain was on the sidelines in Seattle for Miamis 20-17 win last Sunday and takes fans behind the scenes at the playoffs. The best sounds and highlights from the game will also be included.
"The intensity on the field is just awesome," Chastain says. "Everyone will get to see that up close on Saturday."
Tennessee Titans star defensive end Jevon Kearse, affectionately nicknamed "The Freak," played a key role in the Titans 22-16 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Now, the best plays from Kearses record-setting rookie season will be shown to the Marvelous3 tune "Freak of the Week."
NFL Under the Helmet takes you "Back in the Day" with Rams defensive end Kevin Carter. Carter led the NFL with 17 sacks in 1999, but did not get a taste of football action until his sophomore year at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Florida.
Carter was a straight "A" student growing up and loved to play the saxophone. The defensive end will discuss his favorite moment as a high school player, which includes a big hit on another future NFLer.
Other stories include a feature on Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy, and how he has guided Tampa Bay to its first division title since 1991 and the "Sounds of the Week," from Wild Card weekend.
The band Incubus will appear live in studio and perform the single "Pardon Me," to the best plays of the playoffs.
NFL Under the Helmet is hosted by Ron Pitts and Jill Arrington.
