150 CHICAGO CHILDREN TO COMPETE IN CHICAGO BEARS NFL C.I.T.Y. FLAG FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15 AT OGDEN PARK

Chicago Housing Authority And YMCA Of Metropolitan Chicago Youth Leagues
To Compete For Citywide Bragging Rights

WHAT: One hundred and fifty "inner-city" Chicago boys and girls ages 11-14 will compete for the Chicago Bears 1997 NFL C.I.T.Y. (Challenge and Inspire Today’s Youth) Flag Football Championship. Twelve teams from the Chicago Housing Authority and YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago C.I.T.Y. leagues will compete against each other in a five-on-five flag football tournament for the right to be called 1997 Chicago Bears C.I.T.Y. Football Champions. The NFL will provide trophies for participants.

NFL C.I.T.Y. Football provides free structured recreational football programs to children who live in "at-risk" communities. C.I.T.Y. Football is part of the NFL’s "Play Football" initiative to create exciting ways for even more kids to play, watch and experience the game of football.
