NFL UNDER THE HELMET FEATURES VIDEO TRIBUTES TO EMMITT SMITH, BRUCE SMITH & A TRIP "BACK IN THE DAY" WITH TIM COUCH
New York, December 27, 1999 Dallas Cowboys running back EMMITT SMITH has made his mark on NFL defenses throughout the 1990s.
On Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (check local listings), following FOXs coverage of the Cotton Bowl, NFL Under the Helmet will air a video tribute to the three-time Super Bowl champion, complete with highlights of the greatest moments of his career. The footage will be accompanied by Collective Souls hit "Run."
From an offensive legend to a star on the other side of the ball, NFL Under the Helmet will honor Buffalo Bills great Bruce Smith with the help of rock band Sevendust.
To the track "Denial," the show will air footage of Smiths hardest hits and most important sacks. The 10-time Pro Bowler is second on the NFLs all-time sack list with 171.
The show goes "Back in the Day" with Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Tim Couch. Couch discusses his career at Leslie County High School in Hyden, Kentucky and his experience as an NFL rookie.
Denver Broncos linebacker Glenn Cadrez game-winning 37-yard overtime fumble return touchdown against Seattle was chosen as the NFL Under the Helmet "Play of the Month." The play has been recreated with video game images for Saturdays show.
Other features of the program include a day of martial arts training with Jets linebacker Mo Lewis, and the Plays of the Week to Will Smiths tune "Will 2K."
