Summer Camps To Teach
Boys and Girls Basic Football Skills
WHAT: | More than 800 New Orleans inner-city boys and girls ages 6-14 have been selected and will participate in the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS NFL C.I.T.Y. (Challenge and Inspire Todays Youth) Football Summer Day Camps. The week-long camps will be led by local high school coaches and volunteers who will teach non-contact football skills to camp participants. |
The New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) will oversee all local C.I.T.Y. Football programs, and former New Orleans Saints All-Pro Linebacker, RICKEY JACKSON, will serve as the Saints spokesperson. | |
NFL C.I.T.Y. Football was launched in New Orleans in January 1997 during SUPER BOWL XXXI week. C.I.T.Y. Football provides innovative ways for inner-city children to play, watch and experience the game of football at no cost. | |
