NFL.COM TRAFFIC SOARS ON KICKOFF SUNDAY;

Visits to Site Increase 67% vs. 1999, Page Views Increase 121%

NEW YORK, September 6, 2000 – NFL.com, the league’s official web site, enjoyed a strong start to the NFL’s 81st season, scoring record traffic on Kickoff Sunday (September 3). Visits to the site increased 67% vs. Kickoff Sunday 1999 while page views increased 121% vs. 1999. Over the three-day holiday weekend, nearly 3,000,000 total visitors logged on to NFL.com.

In August, NFL.com was re-launched with a wide range of new features and

programming. Some of these features include an NFL Films Channel, a fantasy football game, live audiocasts of NFL games, behind-the-scenes analysis from the NFL Insider magazine staff, a new teen site, a new Hall of Fame site, and an auction site to be launched shortly.

All of these initiatives, combined with the newly launched official Club sites, comprise the NFL Internet Network, a groundbreaking sports league model that effectively combines the advantages of scale and aggregation with the customization of local content creation.

NFL.com is the #1 sports league site and routinely ranks as the third most popular sports site overall on the Internet.
