NFL FANS FLOCK TO THE POLLS AS NFL.COM HOSTS ELECTION DAY VOTING
NEW YORK, October 29, 1999 With Americans set to return to the polls on Tuesday, November 2, NFL fans are already in the voting mood as NFL.com presents an Election Day special.
On Monday, November 1, fans can get a jump on Election Day by casting their ballots for the 2000 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl on NFL.com. Voting runs through December 7 and fan choices will count one-third towards determining the 43-man Pro Bowl rosters that will represent the American and National Conferences in the annual all-star game at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The other two thirds will come from players and coaches.
In the spirit of the election season, NFL.com takes you from the top players to the top plays, as fans can vote for their Week 8 favorites and watch the exciting video from NFL Films.
The greats of today and of generations gone by are recognized in voting for the top 10 Most Memorable NFL Games of the Century. More than 20,000 fans have already voted on NFL.com, pouring over a recommended list of 50 memorable games available on the site or adding selections of their own.
The fans choices will be revealed weekly beginning with the 10th Most Memorable Game in Week 12, leading up to the announcement of the Most Memorable NFL Game of the Century during the week prior to Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta, Georgia.
Fans have been voting weekly in the "Best of the Best Shots" contest. A trio of images from Best Shots, a new book containing some of the greatest NFL photographs of the century, is presented online, along with a brief history of the photo. Fans weekly favorites, as determined by online voting, will compete during the NFL playoffs for the title of "Best of the Best Shots."
