NFL AND LYCOS LAUNCH PRIZE-PACKED, INSTANT-WIN SWEEPSTAKES ON SUPERBOWL.COM

NFL and Lycos Team Up with RealTIME Media To Add Incentives
and Rewards to Superbowl.com Experience

NEW YORK, NY - January 12, 1999 - The National Football League (NFL) and Lycos today announced the "Lycos SuperBowl.com Instant Win Game and Sweepstakes," went live on Sunday, January 10, 1999 at www.superbowl.com. The Lycos SuperBowl.com Instant Win Game and Sweepstakes will award thousands of instant prizes, and one lucky fan will win an all-expense paid trip for two to Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta on January 30, 2000.

The trip for two to Super Bowl XXXIV is just one of many prizes to be awarded as part of the online promotion designed to attract more users to the SuperBowl.com Web site. Additional instant-win prizes will include Lycos Store gift certificates, official NFL footballs, polo shirts, hats and Lycos branded apparel and gifts.

To play, users just log on to the Super Bowl XXXIII Web site at Superbowl.com, follow the links, and quickly create their own free Lycos Personal Guide (http://personal.lycos.com). After the Personal Guide is set up, users can play the game once each hour. Each time a user plays the game, the user receives a virtual instant-win game card that uses RealTIME Media’s patent-pending online "scratch and win" technology. Players use their mouse to scratch off and uncover if any prizes have been won. For each game play, players are automatically entered into a random grand prize drawing for the free trip for two to Super Bowl XXXIV in January 2000.

"The sweepstakes is a great interactive addition to superbowl.com. It gives visitors to the site one more reason to return often, and adds another dimension of fun to the community experience that Lycos has put together," said Ann Kirschner, vice president, NFL Interactive.
