"NFL UNDER THE HELMET" KICKS OFF SECOND SEASON;
FEATURES TRIBUTE TO LEGENDARY QBS MARINO, YOUNG & MUSIC OF INCUBUS

New York, August 23, 2000 – With a look back at the legendary careers of DAN MARINO and STEVE YOUNG and the sounds of INCUBUS, NFL Under the Helmet kicks off its second season Saturday at 12:00 p.m. on FOX-TV.

The NFL’s teen-driven magazine show, produced by NFL Films, features the best of the NFL and the world of contemporary music.

On the first episode of the 2000 season, the show will pay special tribute to Marino and Young, who both retired after record-setting careers. They will be featured in extensive highlights packages and fans will take a trip "Back in the Day" with the duo, as they discuss the early days of their football careers.

Marino’s highlights will be set to the Incubus tune "Stella," a top-ten hit on the modern rock chart. Young’s best will be set to "Try Again" by AALIYAH.

The show also takes viewers on vacation – with hard-hitting New England linebacker TED JOHNSON. Johnson spent time this summer in the Cayman Islands scuba diving, and NFL Films took the plunge as well.

The weekly segment, "A Day in the Life," features Minnesota’s defensive standout, JOHN RANDLE, during a day of training camp at Minnesota State University. Never at a loss for words, Randle gives viewers an up-close look at how the Vikings get ready for the regular season.

Other features include a look at the "Play of the Year" from the 1999 season, sounds of training camp, and a preview of Saturday’s NFL Celebrity Golf Classic.

NFL Under the Helmet airs every Saturday at noon ET on FOX-TV (check local listings). The show is hosted by RON PITTS and REBECCA GRANT.
