FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EMMITT SMITH AND CURTIS MARTIN GO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH KIDS
IN PHILADELPHIA TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11
AS PART OF FOX KIDS/STARTER PLAY FOOTBALL CRAZE

NEW YORK, November 4 -- Thousands of children play football at school and pretend they are NFL stars. MATTHEW KILRAIN, 12, of Philadelphia, and 19 of his friends will get a chance to play with two real NFL heroes in a flag football game as part of the FOX KIDS/STARTER PLAY FOOTBALL CRAZE national promotion. Star running backs EMMITT SMITH of the Cowboys and CURTIS MARTIN of the Patriots will travel to Philadelphia Tuesday, November 11 to play football with the kids at a field near Matthew’s school.

Smith and Martin, two of the NFL’s most exciting running backs, will choose up sides for the five-on-five game. They are both expected to see time at quarterback and wide receiver. The children will suit up in home and away Eagles’ uniforms, while Smith and Martin will wear their respective jerseys.

Matthew was selected at random from more than 225,000 entrants by filling out an entry form at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Philadelphia. The national promotion invited kids from around the country to register to win through entry forms at one of the 2,000 participating Starter retailers nationwide or by sending a postcard to Fox Kids Network.

Five hundred Starter NFL Outburst jackets will be awarded nationally as runner-up prizes.

The FOX KIDS/STARTER PLAY FOOTBALL CRAZE is part of the NFL’s Play Football initiative which encourages even more children to play, watch, attend and experience the game of football.
