NFL & ESPN HOST MOVIE
SCREENING FOR Premiere Tuesday, September 3 at Loews Astor Theatre The NFL and ESPN will host a private screening for the New York City Fire Department of NFL Films’ one-hour film “The Bravest Team: The Rebuilding of the FDNY Football Club” on Tuesday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Loews Astor Theatre (1515 Broadway). The FDNY lost 343 men, including 22 active and former members of its football team. NFL Films chronicled their courageous 2002 season and honors the memories of the fire department’s fallen brothers. In the face of tragedy, surviving members struggled to overcome the emotional loss and shock of the event while trying to rebuild their team. The movie will debut 9:00 P.M. ET Tuesday, Sept. 10 on ESPN. The film will be rebroadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 11-12. Those in attendance at the debut will include, members of the NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT FOOTBALL TEAM, THE NEW YORK POLICE DEPARTMENT FOOTBALL TEAM, NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT FIREFIGHTERS, NFL Commissioner PAUL TAGLIABUE, CITY OF NEW YORK OFFICIALS and NFL Films President STEVE SABOL.
