RAIDERS’ RICE SETS ALL-TIME NFL RECORD

FOR MOST YARDS FROM SCRIMMAGE

 Oakland Raiders wide receiver JERRY RICE today surpassed Pro Football Hall of Fame running back WALTER PAYTON to become the NFL’s all-time leader in yards from scrimmage with 21,281.

With 13:48 remaining in the third quarter against the Tennessee Titans, Rice caught a 19-yard pass from quarterback RICH GANNON to give him 21,270 career yards from scrimmage, surpassing Payton’s 21,264.

Rice finished the game with 151 yards from scrimmage – 144 receiving and seven rushing – as the Raiders defeated Tennessee 52-25 in Oakland.
