RAIDERS’ WOODSON SETS NFL RECORD

FOR MOST CAREER INTERCEPTION-RETURN YARDS

 Oakland Raiders safety ROD WOODSON today surpassed Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back EMLEN TUNNELL (1948-61) for most career interception-return yards with 1,340.

Woodson entered today’s game against the Tennessee Titans needing 43 interception-return yards to surpass Tunnell.  Woodson intercepted three passes for a total of 100 return yards and a touchdown in Oakland’s 52-25 win.

 Woodson surpassed Tunnell on his second interception of the game, returning it 82 yards for a touchdown to give the Raiders a 38-7 advantage with 10:26 remaining in the third quarter.
