-- A LOOK AT 2002 NFL KICKOFF WEEKEND ROSTERS --

THREE SCHOOLS LEAD THE WAY:  Florida, Florida State and Notre Dame are the schools with the most players on NFL Kickoff 2002 Weekend rosters, with 39 each.  Florida State led all schools the past two years with 38 players in 2000 and 40 in 2001.  Michigan is fourth this year with 38, followed by Miami and Georgia (35), Tennessee (32), Nebraska (30) and Southern California (29).  A total of 249 colleges were represented on Kickoff Weekend rosters.  Following is a breakdown by position of schools with the most players on 2002 NFL rosters:

HEAVYWEIGHTS ON THE LINE:  On NFL Kickoff 2002 rosters, there were 315 players weighing at least 300 pounds. There were 67 (34 in AFC; 33 in NFC) 300-pounders in 1992 according to the NFL Record & Fact Book.  The majority of this year’s 300-pounders (233 of 315, 74 percent) play on the offensive line.

The Dallas Cowboys have the NFL’s heaviest contingent of offensive linemen (averaging 331.8 pounds per man), including the NFL’s heaviest player – tackle AARON GIBSON (410).
