NFL MINICAMP DATES ANNOUNCED

The NFL announced a full schedule of team minicamp dates today, with the majority of clubs conducting minicamps this week.

DENNIS ERICKSON can’t wait for his to get started.

“I’m excited about our minicamp for a couple of reasons,” says the new San Francisco 49ers’ head coach.  “First, it is a chance for me to get to know our veterans who have helped build our tradition and get a feel for how they approach the game and what it is to be a 49er.

“Secondly, it’s a chance to identify the younger guys in the organization.  Pads won’t be on, so you can’t tell everything, but we’ll get a look at how these guys are athletically.”

And the 49ers also will get to know their new head coach.

“They’ll find a coach who is very involved in practice, in all areas of practice,” says Erickson.  “They’ll also find a coach who is energetic and supportive.  I’m not a yeller and screamer – unless I have to be.”
