ARIZONA AWARDED 2008 SUPER BOWL

The city of Glendale, Arizona -- site of the Arizona Cardinals’ new 63,000-seat stadium that will open in 2006 -- was awarded Super Bowl XLII in 2008 in a vote of NFL owners today at the league’s Fall Meeting in Chicago.

The game will be played in February, 2008.

It will be the second Super Bowl to be hosted by Arizona.  Super Bowl XXX was played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona on January 28, 1996.  The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17.
