FOR USE AS DESIRED SATURDAY TRIPLE FEATURE, PART 2! It’s an NFL national TV tripleheader for the second consecutive week. Talk about an early New Year’s celebration! The NFL’s annual Saturday late-season TV schedule will feature at least 10 hours of football tomorrow, each game loaded with interesting scenarios and playoff implications. Saturday’s NFL TV tripleheader: · BUFFALO BILLS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (CBS-TV, 1:30 PM ET): Revenge time? It seems like a long time ago, but the Patriots remember the 31-0 pasting the Bills laid on them on Kickoff Weekend. New England went on to win 13 of its next 14 games (and its last 11 in a row), but they want to end the season unlike they began it. “We owe them one,” says Patriots safety RODNEY HARRISON. “Everyone knows that. They came out and flat kicked our butts. We have to be ready.” With a win, New England clinches homefield advantage for the AFC playoffs. · SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (FOX-TV, 5:15 PM ET): An important game for both clubs. Seattle needs to win or tie, along with other scenarios, to make the playoffs. The Niners, who upended Philadelphia last week in overtime, can even their season record at 8-8. In 22 seasons (since 1981), San Francisco has had only three losing records. The 49ers also want to pay back Seattle for edging them 20-19 on October 12 on a 37-yard JOSH BROWN field goal. · PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at WASHINGTON REDSKINS (ESPN, 8:30 PM ET): Throw out the records when these two longtime division rivals meet. The Eagles have won five of the past six in the series, including October 5 when the Redskins rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final three minutes only to see a PATRICK RAMSEY two-point pass attempt sail over his receiver’s head in a 27-25 Eagles victory. An Eagles win or tie can lead to a division title and homefield advantage.
