SHAWN DENNIS was named NFL Vice President of Marketing Services, John Collins, NFL Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, announced today. Dennis, the former Vice President and Group Head - Global Co-branding at MasterCard International, will oversee the NFL’s consumer research, database marketing, ticket sales and marketing activities. She also will manage the NFL’s overall brand imaging and marketing campaign, including advertising and network and partner promotions and media planning with Young & Rubicam, the League’s advertising firm. Dennis, 40, joins the NFL after six years at MasterCard International where she led the company’s global co-brand consulting and business development, generating new, profitable partnerships between marquee merchants and key MasterCard members. She also led a multi-departmental team that delivered more than 100 co-branded deals. Prior to her career at MasterCard, Dennis served as the Vice President of Non-profit Consulting at Educational Marketing Concepts where she generated sponsorship revenue to fund the first IMAX film based on the Olympics (Olympic Glory, released January 1999). Dennis spent eight years (1989-96) at Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida as Vice President of Corporate Alliances. She was responsible for delivering long-term strategic corporate partnerships. She also developed and led the first centralized sponsorship bundling of Universal Studios’ global divisional assets, including theme park rights, film product placement opportunities, television media commitments, home video and music option and ties to the company’s eight amphitheaters. Dennis started her career in 1985 at The Clorox Company as a brand assistant for the Kingsford New Products Division before working as an assistant product manager for Boys’ Toys at Kenner Products and later at Kings Entertainment Company (now owned by Paramount Studios) as a producer and marketing manager.
