Colts T Tarik Glenn Added to AFC Pro Bowl Roster

INDIANAPOLIS — The way Tarik Glenn sees it, it could have been him, or it could have been any numbers of his teammates.

That it was him, he said, is a true honor.

Glenn, the Colts’ eight-year veteran left tackle, was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team today for the first time in his career. He became the first Colts offensive lineman named to the team since tackle Will Wolford in 1995.

“It’s a blessing, just to know guys think that highly of you,” Glenn said.

“It’s an honor to play with the best in the league. I’m overjoyed, but most importantly, it’s an opportunity for me to go out there and represent the offensive line.

“I really feel a lot of the guys I play with sometimes don’t get the credit other guys get.”

Glenn replaces Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Willie Anderson, who will miss the game due to a knee injury.

The Colts, despite ranking in the Top 10 in the NFL in total offense every season since 1998, had not had a Pro Bowl offensive lineman during that span.

“I just feel like it’s a blessing for me to be the first,” Glenn said. “Those guys I play with — like (center) Jeff Saturday and (tackle Ryan) Diem and (guard Rick) DeMulling — they’re guys who have been playing solid for three or four years.

“We all contribute to all of the records that have been broken here and the success of the offense. Any one of us could have been the first. It’s just a blessing from God that I was the first.”
