NFL SELECTS DON MISCHER PRODUCTIONS TO PRODUCE
AMERIQUEST MORTGAGE SUPER BOWL XXXIX HALFTIME SHOW

The National Football League named Emmy-Award winning Don Mischer Productions the producer of the AMERIQUEST MORTGAGE SUPER BOWL XXXIX HALFTIME SHOW, it was announced today.   The lineup of performers and show details will be announced at a later date.

Super Bowl XXXIX will be held on February 6, 2005 at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. The game will be televised by FOX to a potential worldwide audience of 1 billion viewers.  Watched by a record 144.4 million viewers in the U.S. last year, the Super Bowl is annually the nation’s highest-rated TV program and the most-watched single-day sporting event.  Game time is 6 p.m. ET.

This marks the second time Don Mischer Productions, which also produced the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, will produce a Super Bowl Halftime Show.   Mischer worked with Radio City Hall Productions for Super Bowl XXVII when the Dallas Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills in Pasadena, California in front of 98,374 fans on January 31, 1993.  The show featured a performance by Michael Jackson.

Mischer most recently produced his eighth Emmy Awards Show September 19 in addition to the Democratic National Convention in Boston, MA.  His impressive track record includes executive-producing and producing celebrated specials such as The Kennedy Center Honors, Baryshnikov by Tharp, The 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall.

Among Mischer’s other credits are such standout events as The Tony Awards, for which he won two Emmys, ABC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, Lifetime’s Achievement Awards: Women Changing the World and Barbra Streisand’s Millennium Concert at the MGM Grand.

As president of Don Mischer Productions, Mischer has been honored with 13 Primetime Emmy Awards, a record nine Director’s Guild Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, three NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting and Europe’s prestigious Golden Rose of Montreaux.
