NFL & Players, Inc. Produce TV Spots
Featuring Daunte Culpepper, Tony Gonzalez, MICHAEL STRAHAN playing for the “Prowling Purple Pandas”? CLINTON PORTIS a member of the “Cheeky Monkeys”? Fear not New York Giants and Washington Redskins fans, Strahan and Portis will be lining up for their respective teams this season. But the players are two of seven NFL stars taking part in NFL.com’s first fantasy football ad campaign. Other participants are Minnesota quarterback DAUNTE CULPEPPER, Kansas City tight end TONY GONZALEZ and running back PRIEST HOLMES, St. Louis wide receiver TORRY HOLT, and Indianapolis quarterback PEYTON MANNING. The six spots – which will air during nationally televised preseason games – include two 30-second commercials. “Team Meeting” features the players “game planning” with their fantasy football teammates. In “I Am a Player,” the players discuss their fantasy football team affiliations. The NFL and Players, Inc. collaborated on the commercials, which were produced by DCode. The spots promote NFL.com’s wide variety of premium fantasy games and content. Fans may sign up today for the “NFL Fantasy Extra” subscription service, which features enhanced content, including custom video highlights and expert analysis. NFL.com kicks off the season with four fantasy football games, including the subscription-based NFL Fantasy 2004 and NFL League Manager 2004. Free games include NFL Challenge 2004 and NFL Touchdown 2004. “Fantasy football is a great way for fans to get involved with the NFL and its players,” said CHRIS RUSSO, NFL senior vice president of new media and publishing. “With our new content, NFL.com and the team websites are the ultimate destinations for fantasy football players.” Fans signing up for “NFL Fantasy Extra” can begin their fantasy preparations immediately. Following is a look at the exclusive content on “NFL Fantasy Extra”: · Personal Video Highlights – Each week during the regular season, participating fans will receive a customized highlight package featuring the scoring plays of their fantasy teams. In addition, fans can “scout” other players in preparation for trades and free-agent signings. · Deluxe Draft Kit – The most comprehensive fantasy football preview available, with more than 200 pages of position-by-position rankings, cheat sheets, projections, team previews and mock drafts. · Expert Analysis and Advice – NFL.com analysts STEVE COHEN, JAY GLAZER, and ADAM CAPLAN will offer the most-informed fantasy analysis on the web. · Daily News and Updates – The latest news from all 32 training camps. During the season, the daily updates continue with injury reports, breaking news, and detailed player information. Fans can also sign up for “NFL Fantasy Report,” a free weekly e-mail with fantasy news, analysis and advice.
