NFL TO SPONSOR OFFICIATING CLINICS

The National Football League Officiating Department will conduct its sixth annual series of officiating clinics for high school and college game officials this spring, the league announced today.

NFL Officiating Supervisors, on-field officials and NFL trainers will participate.

The first clinic will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 24.

“The goal of our clinics is to support officiating at all levels by teaching the NFL philosophy and mechanics of officiating in an environment that fosters friendship and camaraderie,” says NFL Director of Officiating MIKE PEREIRA.

Each clinic will be split into morning and afternoon sessions.  The first part of the day will involve classroom instruction with presentations to the entire group.  The afternoon session will consist of position breakout meetings.

Each clinic will run from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM and is limited to 175 participants.  There is a $35 registration fee.  All participants will receive an NFL hat, t-shirt, continental breakfast, lunch and an opportunity to win door prizes.

The NFL will send letters to local high school and college officials with specifics on the registration procedures.

Please contact Neely Dunn (212/450-2388) or Monica Shiwbalak (212/450-2565) of the NFL Officiating Department for additional information.
