NFL KICKOFF 2004 = TV RATINGS TOUCHDOWN;
NFL TOPS RATINGS IN 25 LOCAL MARKETS

NFL Games Rank 1st & 3rd Among All Shows For Week
Games Top “Joey” & “The Apprentice 2” in League Markets

Beginning with the Thursday night NFL season-opener, viewers across the country tuned their televisions to NFL games in impressive numbers last week. 

Fox’s doubleheader game on Sunday (mostly Cowboys-Vikings) was the week’s number-one show (13.4 rating/27 share), while the Thursday night opener on ABC (Colts-Patriots) ranked third (11.4/20) (comparing favorably to the series premiere of “Joey” (12.1/20) and the season premiere of “The Apprentice 2” (9.3/14)).

NFL games topped the local ratings in 25 NFL markets.
