HOLT ADDED TO NFC PRO BOWL TEAM

ST. LOUIS - Rams' WR Torry Holt has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl team, the NFL announced today. Holt will replace Philadelphia Eagles' WR Terrell Owens, who is out with an ankle injury.

This will be Holt's fourth Pro Bowl and second consecutive. Holt finished tied for first in the NFC (tied for third in the NFL) with 94 receptions and fourth in the NFL with 1,372 yards. This was the second season in a row that he led or tied for the NFC lead in receptions, as he led the NFL with 117 receptions in 2003.

Holt's 1,372 receiving yards made him the first player in NFL history to have five consecutive 1,300-yard receiving seasons. The North Carolina State product is also the second player in NFL history with at least 8,000 receiving yards through first six seasons, the other is Minnesota's Randy Moss (8,375). Holt gained his 8,156 yards in 96 games, the fourth-best total in as many games in NFL history.

With six 100-yard receiving games in 2004, Holt now has 33 for his career, which is second place on the list of most 100-yard games in a player's first six seasons in NFL history. Holt also achieved another milestone in 2004 as he made his 500th career reception, ending the season with 517. It took Holt 94 games to get to 500 receptions, the fourth-fastest in NFL history.

Holt will join T Orlando Pace in representing the Rams in the 2005 Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, February 13 in Honolulu, Hawaii on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. central time.
