The deal ensures fans throughout Canada will enjoy live coverage of ABC’s NFL Monday Night Football throughout the 2005 season. "CHUM Television is an excellent partner for the NFL and Monday Night Football," says NFL Senior Director of International Media KATIE BOES. "American football is growing in popularity in Canada and CHUM’s free national coverage will be a great service to our millions of fans across the country." The agreement includes live coverage of the opening game of the NFL’s 86th season on Thursday, September 8 when the Super Bowl-champion New England Patriots host the Oakland Raiders. The game features the Raiders’ debut of wide receiver RANDY MOSS and will be Oakland’s first visit to New England since the teams’ memorable 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff "blizzard" game. "With the popularity of the NFL in Canada, we are thrilled to be able to bring it to our Citytv viewers across the country," says CHUM Television Vice President of Programming ELLEN BAINE.
