NFL TO SPONSOR OFFICIATING CLINIC AT UCLA The National Football League Officiating Department will conduct its seventh annual officiating clinic for high school and college game officials this week at UCLA, the league announced today. NFL officiating supervisors, current and retired NFL officials, and college supervisors and officials will conduct the three-day Personal Touch Football Officials Camp that begins on Thursday on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles and concludes on Saturday. “The goal of our clinics is to support officiating at all levels by teaching the NFL philosophy and mechanics of officiating in an environment that fosters friendship and camaraderie,” says NFL Director of Officiating MIKE PEREIRA. The camp will consist of classroom instruction, workshops, field-practice sessions, and field evaluations. Participants will be given opportunities to practice 7-on-7- and 9-on-9-man drills during passing-league games with junior college teams. The activities are designed to enhance the skills of new officials as well as strengthen the officiating skills of experienced officials. # # # |
