JETS FINED $10,000 FOR VIOLATING INJURY REPORT PROCEDURES

The New York Jets have been fined $10,000 for violating NFL policy on the reporting of injuries, the NFL announced today.

The fine was issued by NFL Executive Vice President Jeffrey Pash.

Jets starting center Roger Duffy suffered a knee injury on Thursday, October 9, in practice and did not play in last Sunday’s game against Miami. The Jets did not make proper notification after Duffy was injured, Pash said.

NFL rules require clubs to provide a list of all injured players to the NFL office each week on Wednesday and Thursday for distribution to the media. If injuries occur after those reports are filed, the club is obligated to advise the NFL office, the opposing team, and the media.
