ITEM ONE: STEELERS AND BEARS TOUCH DOWN IN DUBLIN
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears arrive in Ireland Tuesday (July 22) in preparation for the NFL’s first American Bowl game in Dublin. The teams meet on Sunday, July 27, at Dublin’s historic Croke Park, home of the Gaelic Athletic Association. PAT SUMMERALL and MATT MILLEN will call the action. The FOX pregame crew of JAMES BROWN, HOWIE LONG and RONNIE LOTT also will be on hand to headline FOX’s live coverage which begins at 1:00 P.M. ET. The game marks the first of three American Bowl games scheduled this preseason. The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins meet in Mexico City on Monday, August 4, followed by the Green Bay Packers-Buffalo Bills game in Toronto on August 16. Twenty-seven games have been played in the NFL’s international series which began in 1986.

ITEM TWO: MEXICAN MARCO MARTOS TO SIGN WITH BRONCOS
MARCO MARTOS, a wide receiver who grew up in Mexico City and played with the Barcelona Dragons of the World League last season, has been invited by the Denver Broncos to participate in training camp and play with Denver when they meet the Miami Dolphins in the American Bowl in Mexico City on August 4. Martos, a native of Mexico City who played at the American University in his hometown, caught the eye of Denver GM JOHN BEAKE when he caught a 66-yard touchdown pass from JON KITNA in the Dragons’ 38-24 World Bowl victory over the Rhein Fire. Martos is due to arrive at the Broncos’ training camp in Greeley on Friday, July 25. He will sign a contract shortly thereafter and begin practicing with the club on Sunday.

ITEM THREE: KORDELL "SLASH" STEWART ADDS SPOKESMAN ROLE
KORDELL STEWART, the versatile starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been signed by NFL International to promote the NFL in Canada and Mexico. Stewart will participate in several youth programs, events, retail appearances, and hospitality functions. He recently filmed promotional spots north and south of the border, including a joint appearance promotion with Toronto Argonauts running back MICHAEL "PINBALL" CLEMONS for Global Television, an NFL broadcast partner. "Hey, Slash, if we had four downs to make 10 yards, we’d never give the ball up," teased Clemons. "Well, I’ll tell you what," countered Slash "If we had 20-yard end zones, we’d score 50 points a game."
