INJURED QUARTERBACKS RETURN TO ACTION

Three quarterbacks recently sidelined with injuries returned to action in Week Three.

San Francisco quarterback Steve Young started Sunday after a one-week absence and led the 49ers to a 33-7 victory over the Saints. Young completed 18 of 21 passes for 220 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He earned a 149.9 passer rating; the best single-game rating among quarterbacks this season.. Young also rushed for 12 yards on two carries.

Carolina quarterback Kerry Collins returned for the first time since preseason and threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' 26-7 win at San Diego. Collins and tight end Wesley Walls combined on touchdowns of one and eight yards.

San Diego quarterback Stan Humphries returned after a one-week absence and threw for 145 yards against the Panthers.

Jacksonville quarterback Mark Brunell, sidelined since preseason, could return this weekend when the Jaguars host AFC Central Division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
