DOLPHINS SCRIMMAGES BENEFIT HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES
Miami Dolphins players wont be the only ones benefiting from
two intrasquad scrimmages the team will hold in
training camp. So will Miami-area high school football players and other high school
athletes.
The Dolphins will hold an intrasquad scrimmage at Lockhart Stadium
in Fort Lauderdale on July 26, five days after
camp opens, with proceeds going to the Broward County Athletic Association. On August 1,
the team will scrimmage
at the Orange Bowl, with funds earmarked for the Greater Miami Athletic Conference in
Miami-Dade counties.
On both days, high school football players can participate in skills challenges on the field before the Dolphins scrimmage.
"We realize the importance that athletics has in shaping the
future of high school students," says Dolphins
President/Chief Operating Officer EDDIE J. JONES. "We feel the program we are
initiating this year will help to
ensure that high school athletics in both counties continue to play an important part in
the growth of these students."
