STATEMENT BY NFL COMMISSIONER PAUL TAGLIABUE:

"Today’s meeting was very productive. Given the positive discussion, the meeting lasted twice as long as originally scheduled. The participants met for three hours in the morning and decided to re-convene for three more hours in the afternoon.

"The Governor’s representative, Bill Chadwick, is now leading the planning process with city, county, and state officials, and with community leaders. Our goal is to develop a workable, comprehensive plan for operating a successful NFL expansion team at the Coliseum/Exposition Park site.

"The primary focus of our discussions today were related to site development issues. These discussions will continue in the weeks ahead as we work toward our goal of returning an NFL team to Los Angeles in a new stadium at the Coliseum site."
