NFL AND REDSKINS HIT CAPITOL HILL TUESDAY TO HELP KOMEN NATIONAL RACE FOR THE CURE® SALUTE WASHINGTON POLICY-MAKERS MARKING 10 YEARS IN THE QUEST FOR A CURE FOR BREAST CANCER

 

WHAT: 
New Washington Redskins' quarterback BRAD JOHNSON, Pro Football Hall of Famer BOBBY MITCHELL and other current and former Redskin players join Washington dignitaries at a special Capitol Hill event to help the SUSAN G. KOMEN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION NATIONAL RACE FOR THE CURE®, celebrate progress in the quest for a cure for breast cancer.

The Redskins, representing the NFL's recent sponsorship of the Komen Race for the Cure®, and members of Congress, will kick off registration for the 10th Annual Washington, D.C. race slated for June 5, 1999.

Nancy Brinker, Founding Chairman of the Komen Foundation, will recognize landmark legislation supporting breast health and the significant progress achieved in breast cancer research, due in large part to increased federal funding.
