The first NFL Monday Night Football game of the year ranked first for the week.
The Denver Broncos-Miami Dolphins Monday-night telecast of September 13 on ABC-TV posted a 16.1 national rating, making it the highest-rated program of the television week (September 13-19).
The 16.1 rating was up nine percent from the first MNF telecast of a year ago.
The game, won by Miami 38-21, concluded the NFL’s "Kickoff Weekend ’99."
It was the second consecutive week that the NFL finished with the highest-rated program of the week.
FOX's national Sunday game (Atlanta-Minnesota) of Kickoff Weekend on September 12 earned a 13.4 rating, making it the top-rated program for the week of September 6-12.
