STATEMENT FROM A LEAGUE SPOKESPERSON:

The New York Jets confirmed to our office earlier today that Bill Parcells is now the team’s director of football operations and that Bill Belichick is the Jets’ head coach. Under these circumstances, and based upon the contracts we have on file, this office has advised all NFL clubs that the Jets are not obligated to grant permission to any club to interview Coach Belichick.
