This outstanding ratings run started with a 10.1 rating for Cleveland vs. Dallas in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on August 9 (TV week of 8/9 - 8/15).

ABC's preseason game of San Francisco at Oakland on August 30 earned a 9.1 rating (week of 8/30 - 9/5).

FOX's national game (Atlanta-Minnesota) on Kickoff ’99 Sunday posted a 13.4 rating (week of 9/6 - 9/12).

Finally, Monday Night Football’s Denver-Miami game on September 13 pulled the top rating of the week (9/13-9/19) -- 16.1.
