NFL.COM TO PROVIDE WALL-TO-WALL COVERAGE OF
‘PRO FOOTBALL’S GREATEST REUNION’ AND ALL HALL OF FAME WEEKEND
ACTIVITY JULY 28 TO JULY 31

July, 20, 2000 -- More than 100 Pro Football Hall of Famers -- the largest group ever -- will converge on Canton, Ohio, the site of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, for Hall of Fame Weekend (July 28-31). "Pro Football’s Greatest Reunion" and the 2000 enshrinement ceremonies will highlight this unique weekend.

NFL.com, the league’s official web site, plans to offer fans the most comprehensive coverage possible of this historic event. From Hall of Famer chats, to archived NFL Films footage, to live video streaming of induction speeches, NFL.com will make this a one-of-a-kind cyber experience for NFL fans.

"We are approaching this event as we do the Super Bowl and the NFL Draft," said Chris Russo, the NFL’s senior vice president of new media. "We will bring fans a truly entertaining experience that will present NFL history and NFL history in the making."

Intensive coverage will begin on Friday, July 28th with the first of many Hall of Fame chats, NFL Films interviews and feature coverage provided by NFL Insider magazine national editor Vic Carucci. Bios of every Pro Football Hall of Famer as well as specially-produced NFL Films archives will be posted as well. NFL Films will provide more detailed historic highlights of the five 2000 enshrinees (Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Howie Long, Dan Rooney and Dave Wilcox).

On Enshrinement Saturday, NFL.com will provide extensive live coverage from the Hall, including live video streaming by NFL Films of all five induction speeches, including each new member’s presenter.

Fans also will be able to access an audio history containing highlights from the most memorable enshrinement speeches in history including Terry Bradshaw and Walter Payton. A 360° stationary camera provided by BeHere will provide fans a complete view of the entire induction ceremonies. The day will conclude with behind the scenes access from the Commissioner’s Gala at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

On Sunday, Gil Brandt will host a two-hour live NFL.com radio show from Firestone Country Club, the site of the NFL’s Kickoff 2000 Hall of Fame golf outing. Brandt expects at least 15 Hall of Famers to join him live.

Every day, fans can access a daily slide show from Canton, interviews and chats with Hall of Famers, daily trivia challenges, NFL Photos archives, event information and daily news and notes columns by NFL.com reporters. Also, NFL Films will produce Internet exclusive video features showing the best plays and players of each decade.
