JETS, PATRIOTS REACH AGREEMENT

The New York Jets and New England Patriots announced they have reached an agreement on the compensation for the rights for the Patriots to negotiate with Bill Belichick. Jets director of football operations Bill Parcells and New England owner Robert Kraft worked out the terms of the agreement.
The Jets will receive New Englands No. 1 draft choice, the 16th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, and in 2001 the Jets will receive New Englands No. 4 and No. 7 choices. In exchange, the Jets will give the Patriots New Yorks No. 5 in the 2001 draft and New Yorks No. 7 in 2002.
