749 PLAYERS SHARE RECORD $27.4 MILLION ’99 POSTSEASON EARNINGS

A total of $27.4 million – the largest NFL postseason pool ever – will be divided among 749 players who participated in the 1999 postseason, the National Football League announced today.

The Super Bowl Champion St. Louis Rams each earned $107,000 per full share for the playoffs, not counting the Pro Bowl.

Each player for the Tennessee Titans, the AFC champion, earned $92,000 per full share in the playoffs.

St. Louis’ postseason pool totaled more than $6.4 million, while Tennessee’s payout was $5.1 million.

The total postseason pool for all teams was $27,352,500.

Twelve Super Bowl XXXIV players increased their postseason earnings by playing in the 2000 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl. Eight members of the Rams – ISAAC BRUCE, KEVIN CARTER, D’MARCO FARR, MARSHALL FAULK, TODD LYGHT, ORLANDO PACE, ADAM TIMMERMAN and KURT WARNER – each earned an additional $25,000 for playing on the victorious NFC team to total $132,000 in postseason monies. Four Titans – EDDIE GEORGE, JEVON KEARSE, BRUCE MATTHEWS and FRANK WYCHECK – increased their earnings by $12,500 apiece to $104,500 by playing for the AFC squad.
