Twenty NFL teams will open their 2000 training camps this week, following eight clubs which opened last week – Atlanta, Cleveland, Indianapolis, New England, New Orleans, the New York Jets, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
The Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins opened camps yesterday.

FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS
This summer, the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins will conduct training camps at new sites.
But many teams are returning to familiar college towns to begin the ritual of preparing for the season. The NFL training camp longevity king? The Green Bay Packers will return tomorrow for their 42nd consecutive summer at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin.
