NFL & NFL PLAYERS SALUTE WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA

EMERGENCY WORKERS WITH $50,000 CHECK TO RED CROSS

A check for $50,000 was presented by the NFL and its players to a group of western Pennsylvania firemen and other emergency personnel prior to the Pittsburgh Steelers-Tennessee Titans game at Heinz Field Monday night.

The emergency personnel had worked to assist those who were involved in the September 11 crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.

The NFL contribution was made to the American Red Cross in the name of all the emergency personnel who worked countless hours to comfort their western Pennsylvania neighbors in the September 11 crash.

The workers attended the Steelers-Titans game as guests of the NFL and the Steelers.

The donation is part of the $10 million pledged by the NFL and its players to organizations dealing with the loss of life and needs resulting from the events of September 11.
