Kids say the NFL is their favorite sport to watch on television, according to the 2000 ESPN Kids Sports Poll.

More than 800 American boys and girls aged 7-11 were interviewed from January through December 2000 and asked what sport they like to watch the most on television. The NFL stands atop the competition as 29.4 percent of the youthful respondents made the pro football league their top choice.

Trailing the NFL were the NBA (18.9 percent) and Major League Baseball (15.1 percent), respectively.

The ESPN Kids Sports Poll was established in 1998. American kids have stated that the NFL is their favorite sport to watch on television for all three years that the poll has been in existence.
