INTRODUCES NEW TICKET PLAN FOR PRO BOWL;
PRICES REDUCED ON 21,000 SEATS; CLUB SEATS CREATED
When
the NFL’s All-Stars come to Honolulu, Hawaii for the 2002 Pro Bowl – the
league’s season-ending All-Star game on February 3 – fans can see their
favorite players in action for as little as $20, thanks to a new ticket plan
announced today by the NFL.
As
part of the plan, the NFL has reduced ticket prices on more than 21,000 seats
– nearly half of the capacity of Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium.
In addition, the NFL has introduced a “Club Seat” option which
includes various amenities designed to increase fans’ enjoyment of the Pro
Bowl experience.
“The
NFL is committed to making the Pro Bowl the premier All-Star game in
professional sports,” said NFL Senior Vice President of Special Events JIM
STEEG. “We want to ensure
that the fans in attendance have the best possible experience.
We hope to provide improved access to tickets for citizens of Hawaii as
well as the many fans visiting from the mainland.”
The
NFL will directly handle the distribution of tickets this year.
Aloha Stadium had handled the chore in the past.
To ensure tickets are made available to as many fans as possible, the NFL
and local officials will continue to work together to increase the number of
ticket outlets and to limit the unauthorized distribution of tickets.
The
Club Seats, a first for Hawaii, will offer fans a variety of special features
and will encompass approximately 2,500 seats in the loge level of Aloha Stadium.
Club Seat customers will enjoy: special parking and gate entrances with lei
greeting, host/hostess service at their seats, enhanced food and merchandise
concessions, $25 in “Pro Bowl Bucks” redeemable at concession stands,
commemorative seat cushion, collector’s “bobble-head” doll, collectible
relic football card, discounts on Official NFL Pro Bowl Tailgate Party tickets,
and free tickets to the NFL Experience in Waikiki.
The
creation of Club Seats will require the adjustment of seating assignments for
fans throughout the stadium. Information on the new ticket policy will be sent
to long-time Pro Bowl ticket holders this week.
The
2002 Pro Bowl will be the 23rd consecutive NFL All-Star game to be played in
Hawaii. Fans who have previously purchased tickets in the loge area
will be given priority consideration to purchase Club Seats.
The
cost of each Club Seat is $200.
