October 9, 2001 STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:
Leon Searcy of the Baltimore Ravens has been suspended immediately without pay through the team’s October 14 game against Green Bay for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. Searcy was suspended as a result of his May 4 misdemeanor/domestic violence arrest and subsequent acceptance of a pretrial diversion agreement. During the week of his suspension, Searcy may not participate in team meetings or activities, visit the club facility, or otherwise have any contact with the club, except to coordinate any necessary off-site physical therapy or rehabilitation.
