AGENDA FOR NFL SPRING MEETING


The annual NFL Spring Meeting will be conducted at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois from Tuesday through Thursday, May 22-24.

NFL Commissioner PAUL TAGLIABUE added an additional day (Thursday) to the meeting this year to accommodate a vote on league realignment.

The meeting will open on Tuesday with consideration of realignment plans for the NFL in 2002, with voting for a final plan expected to take place on Wednesday.

Other topics to be discussed at the Spring Meeting will be the NFL Internet Network, the league’s new partnership with Reebok, and the stadium construction financing program.

There also will be reports by various NFL committees.  The NFL Competition Committee will report on several matters, including sportsmanship policies for 2001.  The NFL Management Council will report on the status of CBA negotiations with the NFL Players Association, and a stocking plan for the expansion Houston Texans in 2002.  Owners also will receive a report from NFL International on World Bowl IX in Amsterdam in June and the American Bowl in Mexico City in August.

Other topics to be discussed will be the NFL’s association with the Arena Football League and NFL youth football programs. 

Two other meetings will be held concurrently at the Hyatt Regency.  NFL head coaches, coordinators and referees will gather on Tuesday, May 22 for their annual meeting.  On Wednesday, the fourth annual NFL Coaches Career Development Symposium with a group of approximately 100 NFL assistant coaches will be held.
